If you’re curious about what university life is really like and want to get to know UON before you officially start, our Experience Days are the perfect way to do it.
Experience Day dates:

- Wednesday 26 August, 9:45am to 3:30pm

What can I expect at an Experience Day?
Think of it as a mini first day at uni; a chance to get a feel for Waterside campus, meet new people, learn the ropes, and arrive in September already feeling at home.
Here’s what to expect:
- Interactive sessions to help you prepare for student life
- Practical advice from our Student Futures team on finding part-time work and building employability skills while studying
- Explore the real costs of student life, whether you’re staying on campus or commuting. This interactive session will help you feel confident and prepare to manage money at University
- Join the Students’ Union for a quick-fire quiz and uncover everything they have to offer.
- Chat with current students, hear about their journeys so far, and gain first-hand insight into what life at university is really like
- Discover the social side of student life and how you can get involved
- Time to connect with other offer holders and settle into the university environment

Parents, Carers, and supporters – would you like to know more about UON?
Sign up for our Parent and Carer session! The session is designed to provide guidance, reassurance, and support as your student prepares for University.
- Wednesday 22 July, 10:20am – 11:30am
- Wednesday 26 August, 10:20am – 11:30am
During this session, you will:
- Gain an overview of what students can expect in their first year
- Learn about the wide range of support services available
- Discover how they can best support you throughout your university journey
- Have the opportunity to ask questions and speak to our team
After the session, you are welcome to make use of our campus facilities or take the opportunity to explore the town centre.
Experience Day FAQ’s
This event offers you a unique opportunity to experience student life at UON firsthand. It’s exclusively for offer holders, ensuring you have the chance to fully immerse yourself in the university experience .
If you will have a guest travelling with you, they are very welcome to use our campus facilities, and we can highlight the best nearby places in the town centre too. We also have a dedicated Parent and Carer session they can book onto, where they will learn key information about UON and have an opportunity to ask questions
Activities will take place at our Waterside Campus.
By car: Use the postcode NN4 8RR to find us. Free parking will be available in Car Park 4. If you’re getting a lift, the nearest drop off point is outside the Senate Building (NN1 5PH). You’ll then need to walk across campus to the Learning Hub.
By train: If you plan to travel by train, please plan your journey in advance. When you arrive in Northampton, there is a bus which can take you straight to campus or it’s a 15 – 20 minute walk.
The number 18 bus runs from Northampton train station to Waterside throughout the day.
Yes, lunch will be provided, make sure you tell us about any dietary requirements.
