Science – Integrated Foundation Year

Welcome to Integrated Foundation Science pathway 2026.

Congratulations and welcome to the Integrated Foundation Year in Science at the University of Northampton.

This academic year is the start of your journey within the Science pathway for your chosen degree in one of the following courses; BSc Biochemistry, BSc Biological sciences, BSc Biomedical sciences, BSc Environmental sciences, BSc Geography, BSc Health Sciences and BSc Pharmacology.

During your foundation year we will support you in the development of your skills which are needed for a successful career in your chosen degree pathway.

You will be supported through teaching and personal academic tutoring to achieve your goals.

Welcome week activities will include meeting your lecturers, personal academic tutors, other students and participate in other university – wide activities, including the students union activities.

The role of the Course Leader is to ensure that you have a positive experience in an inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

As Course leader, I will work with colleagues to support you with academic guidance, signpost you to appropriate support services and oversee personal tutoring throughout the foundation year.

Your Course leader is your main point of contact for course-related questions and advice regarding progression.
