Health – Integrated Foundation Year
Welcome to Integrated Foundation Health pathway 2026.
Congratulations and welcome to the Integrated Foundation Year in Health at the University of Northampton.
This academic year is the start of your journey within the health pathway for your chosen degree in one of the following courses; BSc Adult Nursing, BSc Paramedic science, BSc Podiatry, BSc Physiotherapy, BSc Occupational therapy, BSc Children and young people’s nursing, BSc Learning and disability nursing, BSc Mental health nursing, BSc Midwifery and BA Health and social care.
During your foundation year we will support you in the development of your skills which are needed for a successful career in your chosen degree pathway.
You will be supported through teaching and personal academic tutoring to achieve your goals.
Welcome week activities will include meeting your lecturers, personal academic tutors, other students and participate in other university – wide activities, including the student’s union activities.

The role of the Course Leader is to ensure that you have a positive experience in an inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
As Course leader, I will work with colleagues to support you with academic guidance, signpost you to appropriate support services and oversee personal tutoring throughout the foundation year.
Your Course leader is your main point of contact for course-related questions and advice regarding progression.

Preparing for your course
When you arrive at the University of Northampton, there’s plenty to get involved with during Welcome Week. However, there are specific sessions taking place as part of your course induction that’ll help you settle in and prepare for teaching to start the following week.
