Travel shouldn’t be a barrier

Additional support for eligible students

We know that travel costs can sometimes make it more difficult to attend an Open Day. To help reduce this barrier, eligible students can receive an Amazon e-voucher to help offset some of the costs of travelling to and from the event.

If your home postcode is in an eligible area (IMD Quintile 1 or 2), you may receive an e-voucher worth between £10 and £80, depending on the round-trip distance travelled.

You can check your eligibility here:

Check Your IMD (Q1/2) Eligibility

The Indices of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) is a means by which we target additional funding for students who may have experienced barriers to higher education. Our checker is for postcodes in England only and is based on the 2019 IMD Data from Gov.uk.

For details on how to check your eligibilty from Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales, please see our guide here.

If you have any queries about your eligibility please email money@northampton.ac.uk

There’s no application form to complete. Eligibility is checked automatically using the postcode provided when you book, and eligible attendees who check in on arrival will receive their e-voucher by email within approximately 5 working days of the event.

This support is available regardless of whether you travel by car, train or bus.
