Overview

Supervision of Supervision (SOS) is a core requirement for those training on supervision programmes but the way these spaces are understood and used can vary widely.

This 1.5-day online course offers a dedicated opportunity for supervisors of supervisors to come together, refine their practice, and strengthen their confidence in facilitating meaningful SOS experiences.

Designed to be both thoughtful and practical, this course invites participants to critically reflect on their current approach while developing new skills and insights to enhance their supervisory work.

Highlights

  • Understanding how to facilitate the space for supervision of supervisors.
  • Supervisors will be encouraged to consider how to set up a supportive, encouraging space for supervisors, how to promote self-awareness and skills in ‘containing the container’
  • Gather an understanding of the SAGE and its usefulness within supervision
  • Differences in group and 1:1 SOS and facilitating processes within these

What You'll Learn

Through a blend of guided reflection and practical learning, participants will deepen their understanding of how to make the most of the SOS space. The course will explore the use of the SAGE framework as a guiding manual, consider how different models of supervision can effectively structure sessions, and address common challenges- such as offering impactful feedback and navigating the emotional processes that often emerge.
