Recruiting our students
We connect you to our students and graduates to recruit into a variety of different roles.
All roles advertised are posted on our online jobs platform which is accessible by both students and graduates. You can have access to this platform to upload roles at any time, free of charge.
These are then targeted through the Employer Engagement Team to specific groups of students.
Supporting your recruitment process
We can provide support to design roles to ensure they are valuable to both you and the student/graduate. We can also support with application processes, interviews and assessment centres, with the potential for these to be hosted on the University campus.
The types of roles you can advertise include:
- Year-Long Placements – fixed term & paid employment contract opportunities for students to complete a year of work (often known as a sandwich year or year in industry) integrated into their degree programme.
- Part-Time work – paid opportunities for students to work part-time alongside their studies. These can be temporary, fixed-term or permanent. Our on-campus recruitment agency Unitemps can work with you to actively recruit temporary or temp to perm roles on behalf of your business.
- Internships – paid fixed-term roles related to the student’s field of study, often project based. These can be part-time during term-time, or full-time in holiday periods.
- Graduate roles – paid roles designed for recent graduates, which often include further training and support to develop the graduate in the role and industry.
- Volunteering – unpaid roles in community organisations, charities or social enterprises. These can be temporary, project based or on-going.
- Placements –practical and structured experience linked to module assessments. There are varying levels of regulation and support required depending on the academic programme a placement is connected too. They are typically unpaid.
