What is the employment promise?
At the University of Northampton there is something called the Employment Promise. This means that if you have graduated and not found employment after 6 months, the university will give 6 months of support from a Careers Development Consultant. If after these 6 months you are still looking for work, they offer a paid internship for at least 3 months.
To qualify, you will need to have completed your HND or achieve a 2:2 or above degree classification, also you will need to have completed either the Changemaker Certificate Level 3 or Employability Plus Gold award. You can find the full terms and conditions here.
How it works
This is very important because it guarantees work for eligible students once they finish their studies. I know some people worry about finding jobs after university, they have put in plenty of work and time into their studies, so having the employment promise can reduce the stress of not finding a job straight away.
