There are many things to do in Northampton and exploring the town does not have to drain your bank account.

Here are 10 budget friendly activities to do in Northampton:

1. Visit Abington Park

Abington Park is one of Northampton’s most popular parks and its perfect for walks and picnics. Best part, it’s free.

2. Northampton Museum and Art Gallery

A public museum and art gallery located in the town centre, with beautiful and historical ceramics and art pieces, collections of shoes and a café. It’s also free to explore!

3. Sixfields Retail Park

Sixfields has everything from restaurants, to an Odeon Luxe cinema, and bowling! It’s a place full of activities, with the Sixfields football stadium just a stone’s throw away. You can get the number 18 bus from Campus to Sixfields.

4. Vue Cinema

Enjoy watching latest the movies with your friends or by yourself at Vue Cinema which you can find in Sol Central in the town centre. Tickets are more affordable and cheaper if you book online.

5. Pinnacle Climbing Centre

Interested in something different? The Pinnacle Climbing Centre is a Climbing and Caving facility where you can enjoy a session of wall climbing and more for £12.50. An additional centre is also available in Weston Favell if that is closer to you.

6. Teamworks Karting and Simulator Racing

Northamptonshire is the home of the British Grand Prix. Each year, Silverstone circuit comes alive as the host of the Formula 1 season, so it’s no surprise that we’ve got our fair share of local racing venues.

If the adrenaline of Go Karting is your thing, Teamworks is a local karting centre where you can race against your friends on a real indoor race track. Prices vary depending on the day you go.

7. Castle Ashby Gardens

Wander through Castle Ashby’s beautiful gardens and take a walk through history. With accessible tearooms, butterfly gardens, beautiful scenery and a variety of animals to see, the Garden serves as a perfect spot to have picnics and explore for only £13. You will need a car to access this location.

8. Gravity Active

Right beside Vue cinema in Sol Central, is an exciting indoor trampoline park suitable for everyone! With wall-to-wall trampolines, foam pits and obstacle courses, it’s a fun filled environment at an affordable price.

9. Trapp’d Billing (Escape Room)

Smart enough for an escape room? This escape room has thrilling themes which you need to solve in 60 minutes to escape. Pro tip: Take as many people as you can, as the price remains the same regardless of the amount of people. This way, its cheaper per individual.

10. University Society/Club Event:

Join a society or sport’s club at the university and keep up to date on the events and activities happening on and off campus that you won’t want to miss. It’s a perfect way to connect, relax and enjoy the best of the town on a student budget.
