Social Work – Practice Educator Professional Standards Stage 2 offers professional development opportunities for suitably qualified Social Workers to become competent in supporting the development of student Social Workers whilst on 100-day practice placement, through supervision, assessment and critical analysis of student practice.
This Stage 2 module will further develop Practice Educator abilities, on completion, they will be able to work with students at all levels including the final placement (100-day practice placement experience).
Social Work – Practice Educator Professional Standards Stage 2 engages students in the principles and concepts of the enabling of learning of others in services with children, young people, families and carers.
The fundamental underpinning principle of the Stage 2 module is a commitment to continuing professional development (CPD) that is to further professional personal knowledge and competence and enable that of others:
The module is assessed through the completion of a Portfolio of Evidence, which candidates need to collate throughout their teaching assessment period with a current social work student.
The portfolio includes 2 observations of practice and an academic assignment.
