Staff Profile

  • Qualified in London as an Adult nurse and worked for 7 years in various London teaching hospitals. Hannah started within cardiology for a year before moving to a cardiothoracic high dependency unit. From there she went on to become a research nurse for 3 years working on phase 4 clinical trials involving anti-hypertensive therapy and combination cardiovascular drug therapies.  Hannah then returned to acute clinical practice working in an ED trauma centre before relocating to a DGH ED.  After some time doing emergency nursing Hannah worked in a duel role for 3 years within Rapid Response and Practice Development.  She then discontinued the practice development part of my role to become and Advance Heart Failure Nurse Practitioner along side Rapid Response before progressing into the world of academia.

  • Worked as a practice development nurse support post registration education within an NHS Trust before starting at UON initially as an Associate Lecturer and then became a Senior Lecturer. Became Practice Lead for the Nursing Associates in 2020.

    Hannah is a Senior Lecturer within Adult nursing and teach on Theme 3 which predominantly looks at how evidence underpins clinical practice. Alongside this Hannah is also a Senior Lecturer and Practice Lead for the Nursing Associates, focusing on the application of theory to practice for Nursing Associates.

    Hannah is passionate about teaching through simulation and using VR as part of active blended learning.
