I decided to study at the University of Northampton as the UON Esports course was the only one at the time that was a BSc degree qualification, compared to other universities which were only offering BA degrees. This is because UON includes sports psychology as part of the course programme.

I have a few branches of career that I would be interested in pursuing, but the main ones are pro Esports player, content creator/streamer, organisation owner, or something creative in the Esports field.

I think my studies will help me to achieve this because it’s giving me a broader understanding of the Esports landscape and I can get a better understanding of exactly what it is that I want to do when I graduate.

The skills gained on my degree that I feel will be most useful in my future career are knowledge and understanding of sports coaching and sports psychology. Not only can I use this to concentrate on a career within sports coaching, but it’s also helped me personally in my development as a player.

I think the best advice for undergraduates who would like to study this course is that it will help broaden your knowledge into the path you want to follow, but it’s important that you also network when it comes to the career you wish to focus on. My time at UON has helped me to reach new people within the industry, which I couldn’t have done alone.
