Why did you decide to study at the University of Northampton?

In addition to being the university that offered the course I wanted, it met all the criteria I was looking for.

What are your career goals/aspirations?

To work where I can make a difference in people’s lives and have the daily motivation to seek knowledge and never stop growing.

How do you think your studies will help your career or personal development when you graduate?

The knowledge acquired through my studies will open doors to different areas in my life, including work, education and social.

Which, if any, skills and knowledge/understanding gained on your degree do you feel will be most useful in your future career?

I have a long list of knowledge acquired during the MA in Special Educational Needs and Inclusion, but if I had to name just one, I would say that I learned that inclusion is possible.

Do you do any extra-curricular activities at UON?

Yes, I am currently the student rep for my course.

How do you think these extra-curricular activities will enhance your career prospects?

These activities, in addition to helping me to be a better human being, also contribute to gaining new skills and experiences, including interpersonal relationships and leadership.

Are you currently involved in any community or volunteering projects?

Yes, I work as a volunteer for a charity helping to support children with special needs. I’m currently supporting a child that has autism and am lucky enough to be able to put into practice what I have learned in theory, as well as being able to develop new skills by seeing how and what works for the wellbeing of each individual.

In one sentence, what advice would you give to undergraduates interested in this career path or anything you wish you had known earlier?

Make use of all the assistance provided by the Academic Librarians.

In ten words, or less how would you summarise your UON experience?

A place that gave me opportunities to expand my mind.
