Student Futures Careers Expo
The Student Futures Careers Expo 2025
Tuesday 14 to Thursday 16 October 2025
At UON, our mission is to provide more than just a degree – we’re here to empower students from day one to become future-ready graduates. Through the Student Futures Framework, we help students explore who they are, gain meaningful experiences, and connect their journey to future opportunities. The Student Future’s Careers Expo plays a central role in this development.
Tuesday 14 October: Become Expo Ready!
This day is all about helping our students get “Expo ready.” It will feature a range of interactive and engaging sessions, including:
- CV drop-ins and application support.
- Workshops on networking, using AI in your job search, and how to approach employers.
- An alumni panel sharing real stories of career journeys after graduating from UON.
Wednesday 15 & Thursday 16 October: Employer Days
These two days will showcase a wide range of employers across multiple sectors, with different employers featured each day. Whether students are looking for part-time jobs, internships, placements, graduate roles, or volunteering opportunities, there’s something for everyone.
We’re encouraging students from all levels of study to attend:
- First Years can explore part-time roles, start building confidence, and connect with employers early in their journey.
- Second Years should focus on gaining experience such as placements and work-based learning opportunities to strengthen their CVs and begin planning for graduate opportunities.
- Final Year Students will be supported to connect their university journey with future ambitions, preparing for life after graduation and the world of work.
- Postgraduate Students can use the Expo to explore specialist roles, build networks in their chosen field, and connect their advanced study to professional goals. It’s also a great opportunity to engage with employers who value the unique expertise and perspective that postgrad students bring.
The Expo is not just a careers fair – it’s a launchpad. It kick-starts our year-round programme of events designed to help students develop the employability skills, confidence, and networks they need to thrive.
Join us in shaping futures, building connections, and creating impact – one conversation at a time.
