7.11.2024Jane Mills shares expertise on embracing Generative AI in Fashion Education at MK Geek night - 30 October, 2024.

On 30 October, 2024, Jane Mills (Senior Lecturer in Fashion and key member of the University Centre for Active Digital Education) had the pleasure of speaking at the MK Geek Night’s AI Festival Special in Milton Keynes.
Jane noted that ‘it was an incredible evening at x+why in Unity Place, Milton Keynes, where we explored how AI is shaping the creative industries.
My talk, Embracing Generative AI in Fashion Education, focused on how AI tools are transforming the fashion industry, impacting both the way we design and how we teach fashion and design in education.
I was honoured to share the stage with two fantastic speakers Lex Fefegha, a creative coder and currently an artist in residence at the Google Arts & Culture Lab, who opened the evening with a fascinating insight into the playful intersection of AI and creativity. And David Sheldon-Hicks, founder of the award-winning Territory Studio, whose work includes iconic projects like Blade Runner 2049 and Spider-Man: Miles Morales. David concluded the event with a fascinating exploration of intentionality in AI-driven creative work.
Huge thanks to Richard Wiggins and MKGN for hosting such a fabulous evening, and to the amazing audience for their engaging questions.
I am looking forward to more conversations at the next MKGN event.
