Video: students take over The Roadmender

Date 23.03.2018

Students from the University of Northampton followed in the footsteps of some of the biggest bands in the world when they took over one of the UK’s best-loved music venues.

The Roadmender, in Northampton, has been a key stop-off on the nationwide gig circuit for up-and-coming acts, with the likes of Oasis, Coldplay, Dizzee Rascal and Arctic Monkeys all cutting their teeth there.

This week, our student bands enjoyed the same rite of passage, as they appeared at the 800-capacity venue in Lady’s Lane.

Undergraduates on the Popular Music degree course packed out the venue over three consecutive nights, from Tuesday 20 to Thursday 22 March, with first and second-years appearing on the second stage, and the final-year students playing the main stage.
