Vice Chancellor Nick Petford receives Honorary Doctorate

Vice Chancellor, Professor Nick Petford has recently been awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Science from Amity University, India.

During a recent trip to India, Professor Petford received this Honorary Doctorate in recognition of his exceptional vision and commitment to scientific enquiry, and his continuous efforts in innovating and improving technology for the benefit of academics.

During the ceremony, reflecting on personal experience, the Vice Chancellor urged the students at Amity University to take full advantage of the opportunities available to them while studying at University. He also said that the meaning of Amity is friendship, which is what he would like the University of Northampton to develop further with the Indian based University providing great opportunities for students of both countries.

Dr Ian Brooks, Executive Dean and Deputy Dean Dr Mairi Watson from the Northampton Business School were also in attendance
