University of Northampton Professor appointed Deputy editor of Journal of Marketing Communications

Date 13.11.2015

Dr Kathleen Mortimer, Associate Professor in Marketing Communications at the University of Northampton’s Business School, has been appointed Deputy Editor of the Journal of Marketing Communications.

The Journal of Marketing Communications is devoted to publishing research papers and information regarding all aspects of marketing and corporate communication, branding, internal marketing, innovative practice and promotion management. The prestigious journal is published five times a year.

Dr Mortimer will be working with Dr Gayle Kerr, Associate Professor at Queensland University of Technology, and Editor Professor Philip Kitchen of ESC Rennes School of Business in France. The Deputy Editor role involves sending out prospective papers to appropriate reviewers for blind double reviewing, considering their views and deciding whether papers can be accepted for publication or require further development. Dr Mortimer will also continue in her current role at the University of Northampton.

Dr Mortimer commented on her appointment: “The Journal of Marketing Communications is a key journal in the area, and the role will allow me to see the most up-to-date research that is taking place and be well-informed of developments and areas of interest. This is a great opportunity to learn more about publishing and to gain an insight into the publishing business which will hopefully be of benefit, not only for the development of my own research, but also to colleagues who are trying to get their work published.”
