The University of Northampton’s Senate has approved the appointment of Professor Charles Oppenheim as Visiting Professor in Library and Learning Services.

Miggie Pickton, Research Support Librarian commented: “We believe Professor Oppenheim will be the first Visiting Professor to be appointed to an academic library service in the UK. We are extremely happy that such an eminent Professor should wish to work with us and we look forward to a very productive relationship.”

Professor Oppenheim has had a distinguished professional and academic career and is an internationally recognised expert in the areas of Intellectual Property Rights and scholarly publishing. In addition to delivering an annual lecture or workshop on his areas of specialism, Professor Oppenheim will provide academic leadership and mentoring to Library and Learning Services (LLS) staff engaged in research activity and will play an active role in the research life of the department.
