University launches postgraduate automotive leather course in Mexico

The University of Northampton has teamed up with Stahl Chemicals to launch a leather finishing programme in Mexico designed for the automotive industry.

The year-long postgraduate course is being delivered in conjunction with the University’s Institute for Creative Leather Technologies (ICLT) and will consist of three two-week training modules taking place in October, February and June at the Center of Excellence in in Léon, Mexico.

It is aimed at applicants with an undergraduate degree or equivalent in a science or leather related subject. There will be several internal and external speakers who will contribute with focused seminars as part of the course.

Rachel Garwood, Director of the ICLT commented: “By combining our world renowned leather education with Stahl’s expertise in leather finishing, we are proud to be launching the first postgraduate certificate in Automotive Finishing to be delivered in at Stahl in Mexico. I am confident the programme will enrich the knowledge and development of individuals working for leading automotive companies based in Mexico.”
