UCEE and Student Services recognised for high levels of student support on offer

Date 16.11.2015

The University Centre for Employability and Engagement and Student Services have both been recognised for the quality services they provide to students and staff to provide information, advice and guidance on a range of issues.

The Matrix Standard is the unique quality standard for organisations to assess and measure their advice and support services, which ultimately supports individuals in their choice of career, learning, work and life goals. The Matrix Standard contains four elements: Leadership and Management, Resources, Service Delivery and Continuous Quality Improvement.

In January a Matrix assessor interviewed a large number of staff and students over a three day period to confirm that the services provided remain at a very high standard.  Particular strengths identified were that all students and stakeholders appreciated the support on offer. Also highlighted was the level of collaborative working that makes life easier for students and contributes to a high level of customer service.

Achievement of the standard was a positive step towards the overall direction that The University Centre for Employability and Engagement are taking to improve the employability of our graduates.

Students are able to visit a UCEE Employability Zone on either campus to access a full range of employability support including paid and unpaid opportunities, CV advice, mock interviews, writing personal statements and application forms. The Employability Zones can be found in Rockingham Library Foyer at Park Campus and in MY111 opposite the Restaurant at Avenue Campus from 9am-5pm Monday-Friday. Students, staff and graduates are welcome to drop in at any time with a query and to find out how UCEE can support them.
