The Sunday Times University Guide 2013

Date 12.11.2015

The University placed 2nd in the ‘biggest risers and fallers’ table, having jumped to 82nd place.

This is excellent news and especially just days after our top results in the National Student Survey (NSS). To have jumped in overall ranking from 108 to 82 is fantastic and shows that our efforts to continually improve the student experience at Northampton is truly delivering results. This has been recognised by the students and also now by one of the most influential league tables.

Vice Chancellor, Professor Nick Petford

As well as a breakdown of University statistics the Guide, published as a supplement in the Sunday Times also offers individual university reviews.

Our goal of becoming the leading university for social enterprise by 2015 was highlighted as well as our graduate employability. The guide also outlined latest scholarship options, the possible £330m relocation to a new waterside campus and our new £25m St John’s Halls of Residence development. Notable research projects included areas relating to hospital infections, levels of radioactivity in UK mines, far- right terrorism and lone extremists and Jack the Ripper’s murders in the context of conditions in Whitechapel in the 1880s.
