Students can rocket to career success with new Graduate Launchpad

Date 28.05.2020

Making sure Northampton students keep a competitive edge in an ever-changing, pandemic-era job market is about to take off with a new employability ‘boot camp’.

The Graduate Launchpad is an online, six-workshop programme designed to give every final year student at the University of Northampton the best new career start before they dip their toes in the job search waters.

Students will receive help getting the basics right, understanding the options available to them and, as a result, stand out from the crowd when finding the graduate job that’s the best fit for them.

The Launchpad covers:

  • Career planning and goals
  • How to job search
  • What makes a killer CV and application form
  • How to succeed in assessment centres
  • How to ace an interview
  • How to transition into the work place.

In addition, each student will have a dedicated careers coach and adviser to support them through every step of the recruitment process.

Mark Blaber Employability & Enterprise Manager, said: “The last few months has seen the world turn upside down for us all, but for our final year students what should be an exciting time of their lives now seems uncertain and lacking in clarity. There is confusion about finding that first job, building a career and working out what their options are.

“Despite external events, the University’s Changemaker Hub have continued to develop and roll out the online careers and employability service for students. For them, we have created the Graduate Launchpad to propel them toward a better shot at career success.”

Final year UON students can enrol for the Graduate Launchpad here.
