Student fashion takes to the streets of Northampton for brochure photoshoot

Date 16.05.2019

The latest creations from the University of Northampton’s Fashion department were given their public debut during a special photoshoot in the town centre.

Shoppers and passers-by were able to get a sneaky preview of the final year students’ collections ahead of their official unveiling at next month’s Graduate Fashion Week catwalk show.

The stunning photographs will be included in the University’s Graduate Fashion Week brochure, which showcases the very best work from Fashion, Textiles for Fashion and Footwear & Accessories undergraduates.

Senior Lecturer in Fashion, Gavin Douglas, said: “We decided to take the photoshoot off campus and into Northampton town centre, because it’s important for the University to be seen as part of the local community.”

“We had lots of people doing double takes as they walked past, and plenty of people who were intrigued by the photo shoot and asking the students about the inspirations behind their work. We also had children wanting to take their photos taken with the models and fashion students. It was a great two days and we’re very pleased with the outcome”

The University of Northampton’s Graduate Fashion Week catwalk show takes place on Tuesday 4 June at The Old Truman Brewery, in east London’s Brick Lane. For more information about tickets to Graduate Fashion Week email lottie.phillips@northampton.ac.uk
