These short cooking videos showcase the diverse talents of House Team Chefs, and these tasty dishes make the most of a budget-friendly, store cupboard ingredients, and leftovers, perfect brain food for students.

Head Chef, David Lively, revealed why he decided to take the teams culinary skills digital, he said: “Good food is what we need to keep us going in lockdown. Maybe you love to cook, and are on the hunt for a new dish to try, or perhaps you’re not so confident in the kitchen, and you’re looking for some help to get cooking, our videos will help.

“We have some very talented chefs that we can all learn something new from. In our videos, we help students to make tasty and nutritious meals, and we’re using equipment and ingredients that most students will have in their homes – unlike some cookbooks.”

If you’re looking to kick start your culinary skills, video tutorials, introducing the foundations of good cooking, everything from perfectly boiling an egg, to cooking rice, boiling pasta and more, by Sous Chef, Roland Playford and Lauren Griffin are a must watch.

Sous Chef, Roland, said: “Students who have left home for the first time, without any cooking experience will definitely find our videos beneficial, but for anyone looking to hone their culinary skills our videos are a good starting point too. Look out for our ‘How do you like your eggs?’ video coming soon, where we explain different yet simple ways of cooking eggs.”

Ready for Valentine’s day, Head Chef, David, will be sharing his signature pudding, a chocolate, caramel and salted peanut mousse, which will be sure to impress your someone special, or taste delicious eaten in your PJS watching a rom-com.
