Short film earns a second award shortlisting

Date 15.05.2020

An ultra-short film by University of Northampton students and staff has received its second shortlisting for an industry award.

Best Friends, a 90-second short set to poet and UON academic Jessica Tucker Boyd’s poem of the same name, is in the running for an award in the Extremely Shorts Film Festival.

In September, it beat more than 1,200 international entries to be shortlisted in the DepicT! short film competition.

You can watch the film on Vimeo.

The team behind the film are Acting & Creative Practice students Shannon Couchman, Lindsay Crawford, Emma Moules and Lois Gold, together with tutors Myles Horgan, Jessica Tucker Boyd and Lisa Lapidge. Myles and the students directed and developed the film.

Myles said: “This is a great opportunity for all involved and shows cases the industry relevance of Northampton’s Acting courses.”

You can vote for Best Friends on the film festival website until Friday 22 May. The winners of the audience and jurors’ awards will be announced the following day.
