Road trippers take in some of the best sights the States has to offer

Date 12.06.2018

Geography students from the University of Northampton have returned from the study trip of a lifetime.

The undergraduates spent two weeks road tripping around the USA, taking in the states of Nevada, Arizona and Utah. The locations they visited included the Grand Canyon, Arches National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, the Navajo Nation, Monument Valley and Las Vegas.

Student, Maria Salemme, said: “It such an incredible experience, one which I will never forget. It was both intellectually stimulating, as we found out so much about the south-west USA on resource and land management and tourism, and it was also a field trip which brought the course-mates closer together – making new friends that we possibly wouldn’t have been able to do outside of this trip.

“The trip brought us to areas of the United States that I would never have thought about going myself, and I’m so grateful I had the opportunity to visit the national parks and locations, such as the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park.”
