Radio show to ask whether The Arts can revitalise Northampton

Date 4.05.2021

The role of The Arts and culture in the regeneration of Northampton will be up for discussion on NLive Radio this week.

Key figures from the town’s cultural scene will appear on Wednesday evening’s Shout To The Top show, which is presented by the University of Northampton’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Nick Petford.

Joining Nick in the studio will be Jo Gordon, who was appointed chief executive of the Northamptonshire Arts Management Trust in 2018, and oversees Northampton’s flagship theatre, the Royal & Derngate, and The Core arts venue, in Corby.

The secretary of the 78 Derngate Northampton Trust, Les Patterson, will also be in conversation with Nick, as will Richard Clinton, chief executive of Delapré Abbey.

The University’s Senior Lecturer in Art and the Public Sphere, Andrew Hewitt will also be taking part. Andrew will be able to provide both a town and a gown perspective, as he is also a board member of NN Contemporary Art, in Northampton.

The show, which begins at 7pm, will also hear from Northampton South MP, Andrew Lewer.

Shout To The Top airs on the first Wednesday of every month, on NLive Radio. Listen via the website – or if you are in Northampton, on 106.9FM. The show is also available as a podcast on iTunes.
