Two-time University of Northampton graduate, Nadine Platt, has now become her own boss and made her dreams become reality by launching her own photography business.
After graduating from both BA Art and Design with Business Administration and MSc Accounting and Finance, Nadine was inspired to become an entrepreneur. With the help of the Enterprise Club at the University, she has now launched her business: Photo Focus Studio.
The University of Northampton’s Enterprise Club offers free support to staff, students and local entrepreneurs (current or aspiring) providing one-to-one business training and advice, networking, mentoring, and access to funding opportunities.
Nadine said: “The Enterprise Club gave me that vital final push to start my photographic business. They helped me in all spheres of business activity such as marketing, sales and finance.” Hiten Vyas, Enterprise Club Business Advisor, commented: “It was a pleasure working with Nadine and helping her to set up Photo Focus Studio. She is someone who has truly combined her educational background and passion for photography to create a business, which I’m sure, will thrive.”
During her time at the University of Northampton, Nadine received the skills and drive she needed to achieve her goals. She said: “Studying at the university helped me to acquire a wide range of knowledge in preparation for running my own business. The university is a fast paced, vibrant and modern establishment providing good quality academic knowledge. My plans for the future include expansion of my business, and developing a training programme to help new graduates acquire practical photographic skills.”
Nadine is specialising in commercial and luxury goods photography but she also provides a general photographic service.
