Date 25.09.2017

A new social enterprise that is placing itself at the vanguard of transforming travel in and around Northampton has launched a new online resource.

SOCIETAL Travel CIC is a new social enterprise company founded by the University of Northampton and Northamptonshire County Council.

It has been created to tackle transportation challenges by analysing real data and developing bespoke solutions that will improve transport throughout the town. The core of its mission is making sure everyone is capable of making the journey they need while reducing congestion and delivering environmental impact.

SOCIETAL Operations Director and Director of the Institute of Logistics, Infrastructure, Supply and Transport at the University of Northampton, Liam Fassam said, “We are working with everyone who has a key role in improving Northampton’s transport network – from users right through to transportation operators. We will identify and develop new ways to deliver crucial services in a cost efficient and sustainable manner, while focusing on the communities and businesses that call Northamptonshire home.

“This new website provides a window into SOCIETAL’s vision and mission, as well as an outline of the projects that will ultimately deliver positive social impact that both the University and the County Council are committed to.”
