Dr Angela Anthonisz, the Head of Subject for Events, Tourism & Hospitality, said: “This is an important appointment to us in terms of Roy’s research profile, industry background, international experience and reputation in the field of hospitality.  His reputation will help enhance the delivery on the subject group portfolio which now includes a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes that provide students with the key skills and knowledge needed for employment in a dynamic global industry’.

“From a student perspective the insight he can provide in terms of what has, and is happening in industry is exceptional and he has his own book series so his credibility in terms of his knowledge and understanding should enhance the student experience.”

Commenting on his new appointment, Dr Wood said: “I am pleased to be joining the University of Northampton in light of the institution’s commitment to learning and the development of advanced teachings. With the integration of active blended learning, the University offers the committed educationalist a range of opportunities for energising students and enhancing the student experience.”
