A round-up of mentions of the University, our students and staff for the past week.

Gemma Lovegrove, President of the University’s Students’ Union, formed part of The Metro’s student finance expert panel (online clip not yet available).

The Times Higher Education Supplement has announced plans for its annual THES Live summit. One of the Vice Chancellors who will be taking part includes Professor Nick Petford.

Advertising and Digital Marketing student Emily Pearson graduated with first class honours this year. Her story about going through Clearing was featured in several local and regional newspapers, including the Chronicle and Echo.

Kate Ironside, Senior Lecturer in Journalism, spoke to BBC Three Counties radio about a plan by Green Party leader Caroline Lucas to form an all-female cabinet to avoid a no deal Brexit. Listen again here (starts 1hr 9mins).

Tim Reinke-Williams, Senior Lecturer in History, had a letter published in The Guardian about Lucas’ plan, arguing that it is not clear and the MPs Lucas suggests for cabinet are not representative.

Textiles for Fashion graduate Poppy Simone Dowsing spoke to BBC Look East (West) about her designs that have been picked up to feature in a forthcoming movie, directed by Edgar Wright (link has expired).
