Hungry and in a hurry? We’ve got an app for that

Date 2.03.2021

The University of Northampton House Team have launched a new app to make sure you don’t go hungry on campus.

The Open House app gives students and staff the chance to get food on the run, around the Waterside campus. Through the app, you can order sandwich meal deals, home comfort cooked food, burgers and soup for click and collection.

Akshay Acharekar, Catering and Hotel Operations Manager, said: “Having good food is so important to keeping us fuelled and ready to face whatever a busy day at the University of Northampton has to offer.  Our new app will help students and staff have the time to eat great food from our house Chefs, no matter what they’ve got going on.”

Open initially from 9am- 3pm, eating well on campus couldn’t be easier. The Market will house the click and collect point, where you’ll be able to grab your food from the dedicated collection point, skipping the ques of other hungry people.

If you have dietary requirements, allergies. or intolerances, through the app you’ll have a hotline to the House Team Chefs who can help you with information about your food choices or discuss orders.

Later in the year, the House Team will be launching a delivery service, which will include office spaces, , and accommodation on Waterside Campus.

The app automatically applies a 10% staff and student discount on your order. Please note that delivery options will incur an additional 20% surcharge. The delivery option will be extended to include the Development hub and opening hours will be extended in September, ready for the start of the new academic year.

Download the app here or by searching Open House MCR in your app store.
