Graduates’ career prospects boosted after Photography degree is recognised by prestigious industry body

Date 8.12.2017

The career prospects of future Photography graduates from the University of Northampton have been given a massive boost after their course received the seal of approval from a prestigious industry body.

The University is just one of 13 education providers to receive professional affiliation for its Photography course from The British Institute of Professional Photographers.

“I am delighted to have secured this highly prized affiliation that will both strengthen students’ employability potential, and provide a firm support network in professional photography both during and after graduation,” said Photography Programme Leader, Richard Whitehead, pictured.

The affiliation means students have the opportunity to gain a BIPP professional qualification alongside their academic achievement. The Licentiate of the BIPP (LBIPP) qualification is a globally recognised benchmark of excellence, which leads to an increased prominence in the marketplace. It also means students and graduates have access to a number of benefits from BIPP, including subsidised professional training courses, advice, access to seminars and exhibitions, business generation leads and a portfolio on bipp.com.
