Fashion graduate Jordan bags graduate position at Ted Baker

Date 5.06.2017

Recent graduate Jordan Shields racked up a whole host of experience during his three years at the University of Northampton, including working at the Clothes Show Live, having work featured in the Bright Young Things campaign and being chosen to be part of last year’s Graduate Fashion Week Gala Catwalk Show.

After graduating in 2016, the 22-year-old from Daventry is now working at Ted Baker where he has had the opportunity to work in various different departments, such as design, garment technology, buying, retail, wholesale and brand communication.

He said: “I am currently working at Ted Baker for a year on a graduate placement scheme where I get the chance to work my way around the company in a variety of different roles. The exposure I have had to see how the business works has been amazing and has opened my eyes to a whole area of fashion I was previously unaware of and has given me plenty of scope for where my future career lies.

“I made a lot of good connections during my time at Northampton and took on lots of great work experience, particularly with the Clothes Show Live. One of my pieces was even selected to front its national Bright Young Things campaign, which was a great achievement for me. I have also been fortunate to work with the British Fashion Council at London Fashion Week, as well as London Collection Men, which has been a valuable experience.

“Once my graduate year ends, I am hoping to bag a job role which leans towards something more product focused, such as design, buying or garment technology.”
