Staff Profile

  • Rory is a Theatre Maker, Musician and Teacher (GTP, QTS). He is the Co-founder and Artistic Director of IDEK Theatre Company and currently works as a Lecturer in Drama. Before joining HE, Rory was Head of Performance for a Secondary School Academy Chain where he was responsible for artistic vision and direction. As part of this work he trained future secondary school Drama Teachers. Rory has close links with Frantic Assembly and has previously collaborated with Neil Bettles (Movment Associate on The Cursed Child) to produce work for The National Theatre. Rory also has links to the RSC.

    As a songwriter, his work has been reviewed by Q and Classic Rock Magazines, including having a song featured in a cover mount CD. Most recently he has recorded a session of original songs for Bob Harris at BBC Radio 2 and has been featured in the ‘Under the Apple Tree Sessions. Rory recently visited Nashville and played at the world famous Bluebird Café and at Douglas Corner where he showcased material for his forthcoming EP which was recorded in Nashville this summer. The new songs were written with Grammy nominated songwriters Leslie Satcher and Will Robinson.
