Rida is interested in neurologic rehabilitation focusing on stroke rehabilitation and stroke survivors’ experiences and quality of life. His PhD research is focused on improving the quality of stroke survivors’ lives by improving attention and memory. The importance of his research is giving stroke survivors the opportunity to achieve greater mental independence which consequently may improve the quality of their lives.
Rida is highly research-oriented and leads the Inquiry-Based Project module (dissertation project). In this capacity, he collaborates with staff members, providing guidance and supervision to students on their dissertation projects and enhancing their research skills. Rida demonstrates a keen interest in exploring emerging academic, professional, and research practices. He delivers active blended learning experiences, utilising both online and face-to-face teaching methods.
He developed and produced digital materials for teaching research methods and academic writing along with assisting in delivering lectures that have a neurological basis. This includes tutorials, seminars and journal club sessions. Rida also leads and co-leads several modules and this includes monitoring physiotherapy placements as a visiting tutor as well as being a personal tutor.
