Staff Profile

  • Quentin qualified in Social Work in 1997 and completed his first degree with De Montfort University the following year. He completed his MSc in Criminology with the University of Portsmouth in 2016. Quentin initially practiced as a Probation Officer, before working as a front-line manager with Northamptonshire Youth Offending Service for 12 years before joining the Social Work team at UON. He began teaching on the Social Work programmes with the University of Northampton in 2020.

  • Quentin is currently responsible for five academic modules across both BA and MA programmes. These include teaching theories and models, risk assessment and safeguarding. He also delivers extensively on the skills training for both programmes, as well as external training for Forster Carers and NHS staff.

  • With a career largely focused on practice development, Quentin has no academic publications to his name. However, following his work on developing Youth Court practice, Quentin drafted “Youth Order Review Panels; Template operating model and guidance for YOTs and Youth Panels wishing to adopt out-of-Court magistrates’ reviews of YROs”. This was published by the Youth Justice Board for use by Youth Offending Teams in England and Wales.
