Staff Profile

  • Katy qualified as a midwife in 2003 from Leicester De Montfort University, following 18 months consolidation practice at Leicester Royal Hospital, she practiced at Kettering General Hospital NHS Trust until 2021.

    Katy spent much of her NHS career as a Delivery Suite Coordinator and within management and specialist roles including as Lead Safeguarding Midwife and Health and Wellbeing Midwife.

    Katy also worked within the Fetal Health Team as a Midwife Sonographer and to implement the Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle, alongside public health promotion.

    Katy has a Diploma in Midwifery Complementary Therapies and Certificate in Midwifery Acupuncture and has a private practice in Northamptonshire providing complementary therapies and services for pregnancy and post birth.

    Katy joined the University of Northampton in September 2022 with a passion to support students to facilitate optimal birthing experience for service users.

  • Katy teaches across the BSc (Hons) Midwifery Programme and is currently module leader for Level 5 module: MID2033P Contributing to Clinical Midwifery Practice

    Katy is also an academic assessor, supporting students out in practice at Kettering General Hospital NHS Trust
