Staff Profile

  • In the time worked at the university for the last 18 years Jane has held a range of diverse roles including programme leader, deputy subject leader and acting subject leader within the occupational therapy and social work subject groups. As well as teaching and assessing, roles include being a programme leader for the BSc Occupational therapy Course – apprenticeship route, acting as a personal tutor, module leader, faculty disability coordinator, mental health first aider for staff and students, faculty academic integrity officer and disciplinary panel member, “Can do” staff development trainer and marketing and admissions for Occupational therapy apprenticeships.

  • Teaching on BSc:

    • Level 4- Personal and Professional Skills for practice / Functional Human Sciences
    • Level 6- Specialist skills in Occupational therapy/ Dissertation/ Enhancing Occupational Therapy in Communities

    Teaching on MSc:

    • Level 7- Professional Project /Contemporary communities of practice
  • Janes’ research interests include homelessness, mental health. Also considering the process of student transition to higher education and working with students with additional learning needs.
