Staff Profile

  • Elena is an Experimental Psychologist specializing in Cognitive Psychology, Neuroscience, and Neuropsychology. She is committed to her position as a member of the EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) Psychology Working Group. Furthermore, she oversees the organization of the Psychology Welcome Week and the Annual UON Psychology and Sociology Research Conference.

  • Elena is the module co-ordinator for the undergraduate (UG) second-year module on “Personality and the Fundamentals of Psychology” (PSY2031) and the postgraduate (PG) modules for the conversion course on “Cognitive and Biological Psychology and Neuroscience” (PSYM080) and “Conceptual and Historical issues in Psychology” (PSYM101). In addition, Elena contributes to teaching on research methods modules, cognitive psychology and neuroscience modules at all levels, independent research project modules (second year UG) and to the “Psychology for Life” module (first-year UG).

  • Throughout her research career, Elena has explored topics related to vision and hearing loss, auditory and visual-spatial perception, neuroplasticity, and ADHD in Adults. Currently, she is particularly interested in cognitive psychology and neuropsychology, perception, projects involving elements of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), as well as psychology research associated with healthy living.
