Dr Doaa Aljamal is an internationally award‑winning accounting educator, researcher, and academic leader, recognised as the CGMA Accounting Educator Innovation Award – UK & Ireland Regional Champion (2025) and STAAR Award Educator (2026).
She brings over 17 years of professional experience, including 13 years in UK higher education, advancing accounting and finance education as a driver of ethical leadership, regional growth, and global economic and social development.
She currently serves as Deputy Head of Accounting, Analytics and Finance (Research and Knowledge Exchange) at the University of Northampton, where she provides strategic leadership in research development, industry collaboration, and impact‑oriented knowledge exchange. Her work focuses on translating academic research into practical outcomes, strengthening professional and societal relevance, and fostering partnerships across academia, industry, and policy communities.
Dr Aljamal is Co‑Lead of the Regional Growth and Development Special Interest Group within the Global Economic and Social Development Research Centre, leading interdisciplinary research that addresses inclusive and sustainable growth, governance, ethical financial reporting, and community‑centred development from both regional and global perspectives.
Alongside her research leadership, she is Course Leader for MSc Accounting and Finance and former Course Leader for MSc Corporate Governance & Leadership. She leads and contributes to ACCA, CIMA and ICAEW‑accredited programmes across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervises DBA and PhD researchers to completion, acts as a UK External Examiner, and serves as an Academic Integrity Officer, supporting rigorous academic standards and ethical practice.
A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and Certified Business and Management Educator (CMBE), Dr Aljamal is recognised for innovative, inclusive, and integrity‑driven educational practice. Her earlier professional experience as an Accounting and Tax Manager informs her applied, practice‑aligned approach to teaching, research, and leadership.
Dr Aljamal is a sought‑after speaker on accounting education transformation, research and knowledge exchange, academic integrity, professional accreditation, and the role of financial reporting in advancing sustainable economic and social development.
