Staff Profile - Devon Rossetti
Mrs Devon
Devon holds a BA (Hons) in Primary Education from Birmingham City University and a Master’s degree in Educational Innovation from the University of Warwick. She is currently undertaking a PhD in Education at the University of Northampton, with a research focus on immersive learning environments and their potential to support and enhance learning.
Prior to joining Higher Education, Devon taught across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2, where she held leadership responsibilities as both Religious Education (RE) Lead and Computing Lead. These experiences provided her with a strong understanding of child development, curriculum progression, and effective pedagogical practice across the primary age range, which continue to inform her work in teacher education.
Devon teaches across a range of subject areas within the Initial Teacher Training programme, including Professional Studies, Art, Religious Education, Modern Foreign Languages (MFL), Digital Technologies, and Computing. She also contributes to Early Years Education programmes, drawing upon both her school-based and higher education experience to support students in developing their understanding of child development, pedagogy, and effective classroom practice.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Devon is a Personal Academic Tutor, School-Based Placement Moderation Tutor, and Dissertation Supervisor, supporting students throughout their academic, professional, and research journeys.
Devon’s primary research interest is in immersive learning environments and their potential to enhance teaching and learning. As part of her PhD in Education, she is investigating how immersive technologies can support learner engagement, knowledge construction, and educational outcomes. Her wider research interests include educational technology, digital innovation, teacher education, technology-enhanced learning, and pedagogical approaches within Early Years and Primary education.
