Staff Profile

  • Dennis has worked in the lift industry for 41 years after completing a four year apprenticeship, then studying for a further two year to obtain a HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. After working in a number of technical, operational and commercial roles within the lift industry, he moved 20 years ago into the lift component manufacturing sector predominantly for a leading steel wire rope manufacturer, and a global lift component manufacturer where he was UK Managing Director.

    In 2017, he started his own company as an independent specialist to the lift industry. Having always been passionate about training and sharing knowledge, he helped update the first two units of the LEIA distance learning modules. At the start of 2021, this led him to joining the University of Northampton as a module leader for the Fundamentals of Lift Technology (Distance Learning) course, which forms part of a structured training programme for lift apprentices and those in the industry working towards higher qualifications.

  • In addition to his current teaching, Dennis also carried out product training for several years along with some lectures to MSc students at Northampton as a guest.

  • Dennis has had a number of articles published in the elevator trade press, Elevation (Elevator World UK), Elevator World USA, Elevatori Italy etc.
