Staff Profile

  • Chris is an award-winning Illustrator and his work has adorned contemporary, crime, fantasy and science fiction covers for the adult and young adult market all over the world. He’s produced illustrations for well-known franchises including Agatha Christie, How to Train Your Dragon, Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes. Chris ‘collects’ inspiration from books, skips, ephemera and salvage sites – working with digital tools, his overriding desire is to create something from nothing.

  • Chris has lectured in Illustration since 2008, primarily having worked at Norwich University of the Arts for over 13 years, and has also lectured at the University of Huddersfield on both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. He has been Associate Lecturer at the University of Portsmouth and the University of Northampton, taking a Senior Lecturer role at Northampton in 2021.

  • The majority of Chris’ research revolves around being active as a published illustrator in the Industry, digital methodology and narrative.
