Overview


The purpose of this module is for students to explore, debate and evaluate their understanding and application of the concepts of occupation within professional and practice contexts.

This will enable them to critically evaluate the use of occupation within current and future occupational therapy philosophy and practice.

Course Content


  • This module is a standalone module but forms part of the MSc Advanced Occupational Therapy programme. You will have the opportunity to learn alongside the MSc students.

    The module will encompass an exploration of occupational therapy philosophy and the emerging theoretical foundations of occupational science that inform the current and future context of practice for the profession. A detailed consideration of the occupational nature of human beings and how occupation can be used as a therapeutic tool in mediating internal and external influence on health and wellbeing in everyday life. The module requires attendance on campus for 5 days spread across the semester.

  • Applicants must hold First or second class BSc in Occupational therapy.

  • 2024/25 Tuition Fees

    Fees quoted relate to study in the Academic Year 24/25 only and may be subject to inflationary increases in future years.
