Open days at the University of Northampton

Date 1 December 2022

Highlighting the benefits that prospective students can experience by attending a a University of Northampton open day when making their university choices.

Gary McDermott

Open days are the best ways for prospective students to interact and get a feel for the Universities they are applying for. Which is why all Universities regularly hold open days and encourage all prospective students to attend.

Here at the University of Northampton our open days give students endless opportunities to engage and get a feel for University life. Students who attend one of our open days will get to see a range of different talks which include our student ambassador welcome talk, finance talks, student life talks, accommodation talks, personal statement talks and subject talks for all courses we offer at the University.

Students will also get to go on a campus tour to view our state of the art waterside campus, attend a town tour to see all the facilities Northampton has to offer and students can look inside the accommodation we offer on our waterside campus.

All of our Universities student support teams will be present at our open days so students are encouraged to talk to them about any queries they may have. Teams present on the day include the Universities Assist team, financial guidance team, accommodation team, admissions team, campus security and our IT support team who show home students the free enrolment laptop they get once they enroll at the University.

At Northampton I feel our open days give students a great hands on experience and allows them to see first hand the welcoming campus community our students and staff create on our waterside campus.

Students will have opportunities to meet and interact with countless current students and members of staff on open days. To gain a students view on the University prospective students can talk to student ambassadors and students who help out with the subject sessions. To learn more about the Universities courses students will have the chance to talk to current academics and lectures on every course. Students will also have the chance to talk to all of the Universities support teams and our Students Union.

In order to make the most out of your day I’d encourage students to arrive as early as possible to give them the most time on campus, once you arrive you will be given a UON bag with an open day schedule. This allows students to see talk times and they can plan their day from there. Bring loads of questions for the course teachers and current students to allow you to gain more knowledge about what Northampton can offer you. Remember an open day is about finding what University is right for you so attend as much of them as you can, but we look forward to hopefully seeing you at one of our open days here at the University of Northampton.
