Phil’s area of expertise is based in a range of print techniques and colour theory having studied Fine Art at University. He went on to work in industry for several specialist printing companies, gaining knowledge through working with production line and sample development departments.
Since working in education in both a teaching and technical capacity Phil has written and delivered Print modules for FE and HE courses in BA Fashion & Costume and Foundation Diploma in Art & Design.
Phil’s role at the University is to provide demonstration and inductions on a wide range of specialist printing and dyeing techniques. Phil works closely with students and staff to translate theoretical ideas into practical and creative solutions
Phil has recently started research into the emerging world of bio-textiles and dyeing, a practice that looks to use natural sustainable resources to produce alternatives to traditional materials.
