  3. Anne Lama

Anne has obtained her BSc (Hons.) in Leather Technology from Bangladesh College of Leather Technology, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She successfully completed her MSc Leather Technology and PhD at the University of Northampton, UK. Her PhD research focused on the growth and proliferation of bacteria in tannery effluent. 

She joined the University of Northampton, in 2014 to work with the Institute for Creative Leather Technologies (ICLT) team.

Anne also contributes towards co-ordinating and running short courses organised at the ICLT.

Anne’s research interest is sustainability within the leather industry. She is currently working with UNIDO to create an e-learning module focusing on sustainable leather manufacture for tannery profession at the Kanpur Unnao Leather Cluster Company (KLC) – India.

She is also interested in historic and archaeological leather research. She is supervising a PhD project (leather technology in the pharaohnic period) in conjunction with the British Museum funded by the Art and Humanities Research Council.
