A letter from the University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Anne-Marie Kilday, about the value of higher education to people, businesses and communities was published in the Guardian. The letter follows the launch last week of the Northamptonshire Growth, Innovation and Productivity (NGIP) Board, which was reported this week by the county’s Business Times.
The University is the first higher education institute to sign the Youth Power Charter, reinforcing its commitment to empowering young people to shape decisions, influence change and make a positive impact within their communities. University Security team members took part in the Waterside Responder Course from the Royal National Lifeboat Institute, putting their new skills to use when they rescued a person from the water on the nearby River Nene. They were given certificates of best practice by the RNLI at Northamptonshire Fire Service HQ as reported by the Northamptonshire Telegraph.
