What were the benefits of undertaking a placement year?

One of the central benefits of a placement year is getting practical experience of working in the corporate world. In the current job market, this is extremely valuable and helps you to stand out.

What employability skills have you developed from your placement?

Being able to practically use AI to develop our website, create agents and using for marketing purposes have helped me create a portfolio of work which I can show to future employers and help me stand out amongst other candidates.

What advice would you offer students applying for a placement?

Do not procrastinate and do not be afraid to apply to any opportunities. The worst that can happen is you get rejected!

What do you feel was the biggest achievement / highlight of your placement year?

Winning the creative and innovation award as it recognised my work and in effect fulfilled the purpose of my placement; finding innovative ways of using AI within my placement organisation.

How do you feel your placement year will help you in the future?

My body of work using AI will make me stand out amongst other candidates.
